| Major: Human Development with Minors in Education & Psychology
Class of: 2010
Bio: Chelsea started to dance in Antioch, CA at the age of four, training in jazz, ballet, modern, and tap. She then continued on to the Academy of Arts and Ballet, and spent 4 years on the Deer Valley Dance Team as both a member and captain. In addition to dance, Chelsea has participated in softball and cheer for several years. In her final year on the Dance Team and at UCD, she hopes to enjoy everything as much as possible and to be a positive role model for her teammates.

Bio: Kristina started to dance at the Fine Arts Academy of Dance in Diamond Bar, CA at age 6, focusing on ballet, tap, jazz, and her favorite genre, hip hop. She danced for Montclair High School for four years and participated in cheer/song for five years. Being on the Dance Team has been a highlight of her college experience, and this year she aims to be a positive role model for UCD while enjoying her senior year at the school.

Class of: 2010
Bio: At the age of 4, Kristy started dancing at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, and then continued on to The Dance Center in Torrance, CA. At age 14, she became a member of the Redondo Union High School Dance Guard. Though her favorite is lyrical, Kristy has also enjoyed taking classes in ballet, jazz, tap, and hip hop. An injury put a halt to her dancing last year, and she is looking forward to again being able to dance and sharpen her technique in her last year on the UCD Dance Team.

Bio: Nicole began dancing at the age of 3 at Touch of Class Dance Academy in San Diego, CA. From there, she went on to study classical ballet at Ballet Center West, the San Diego Academy of Ballet, and the San Diego Ballet Company. Nicole has also trained in jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and has 8 years of experience in gymnastics. Inspired by the talent and drive of her teammates, this year Nicole aims to challenge herself to reach new heights and to support everyone on the team in doing the same.

Bio: Yael started dancing at Irvine Dance Academy when she was 3 years old, and has since trained in a variety of genres, her favorite being contemporary jazz. Additionally, she has danced at Marti’s Dance Studio and was a member and captain of Monta Vista High School’s dance team. As captain of this year’s UCD Dance Team, Yael plans to lead her teammates in increasing Aggie pride, working hard, and performing as much as possible in her last year at the university.

Bio: Alex began dancing in Kodiak, Alaska at age 2, and has since trained in studios in North Carolina, Massachusetts, and most recently, San Diego, CA. For the past 18 years, she has taken classes in all types of dance, from ballet to hip hop, as well as training in gymnastics and cheer. In her second year on the Dance Team, Alex looks forward to continue supporting UCD’s sports teams and to enjoy herself while performing for her friends and family.

Bio: Audrey’s love for dance began in pre-school, though her training did not begin until age 11. Before moving to Davis, she danced at various studios in Illinois, including Dance Connexion Studio, the Denise Sabala Dance Studio, and Midwest Movement. In addition to her training in numerous types of dance, Audrey has been cheering since the 3rd grade and has participated in gymnastics, soccer, and softball. In her third year on the UCD Dance Team, Audrey is excited for a continued bond with the team and to inspiring others to find joy within dance.

Bio: Katrina started dancing at the age of 5, and for the past 15 years has been training in jazz, lyrical and her new favorite, hip hop. Before joining the UCD Dance Team as a freshman, she was a member of the Dazzlers Dance Team and Redondo Union High School Dance Guard. Inspired by her teammates, this year Katrina hopes to further improve upon her dancing skills while representing UCD well.

Bio: With a strong emphasis on ballet, Kayla has been dancing for the past seventeen years in Sacramento, CA. After her start at Phares Theater Ballet, she spent 7 years as a member of Capitol Ballet Company. Her training also included classes in tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical, and character. In addition to dance, she’s been swimming for years, and was captain of her high school’s competitive team. In her second year on the Dance Team, Kayla is eager to meet new people and continue spreading school spirit.

Bio: Addie started taking ballet classes when she was 4 years old at Inland Dance Academy in San Bernardino, CA. Though she focused mainly on ballet, she has also taken classes in jazz and tap at both Inland Dance Academy and Dance Horizons, and was on her high school’s song team. Addie strives to always dance her best and keep a positive attitude, and will continue to do so as a returning member to this year’s Dance Team.

Bio: Giselle began dancing at her mother’s studio in Stockton when she was 2 years old. Since then, she has trained at Dance X-Treme and Sacramento Deane Dance Center in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and modern. Her preferred genre is tap, in which she earned a national title in 2004. In addition to dancing in high school, Giselle participated in volleyball, track, swimming, and cheer. She anticipates a fun and spirited year as a member of the UCD Dance Team.

Bio: Kelly started dancing at age 3, and has since taken classes in jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, modern, and ballet. She started to compete at age 11 with the Studio of Performing Arts and then with Dello’s Performing Arts Center in Arroyo Grande, CA. In addition to dance, Kelly has participated in several years of Track and Field. In her first year on the UCD Dance Team, Kelly is looking forward to having fun with her teammates while working towards becoming a better dancer.

Bio: Laura began training at Oceanside Dance Academy at the age of 3, and remained a student there for 15 years. Upon entering high school, she also became a member of Rancho Buena Vista High School’s Maroon Magic Dance Team. Though her favorite genres are hip hop and modern, Laura has also taken classes in jazz, lyrical, musical theater, and tap. As a member of the UCD Dance Team, she hopes to improve upon her dancing abilities, while inspiring others to have school spirit.

Bio: Moira started to take ballet classes in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of three. Upon moving to California, she began training in a variety of genres at Jean Hart Academy of Dance, including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and theater. Apart from dance, Moira also has several years of experience in both cheer and gymnastics. Inspired by fellow members of this year’s Dance Team, Moira hopes to improve as a dancer and to continue supporting UC Davis athletics.

Bio: Monique began her dance training at Castro Valley Performing Arts at age 2, and remained a student there until her arrival at UC Davis. In addition, she has been on the Golden State Warriors Junior Jam Squad, performed at the Miss California Pageant, and won several titles dancing competitively. In her second year at the university and on the team, Monique hopes to increase school spirit while supporting UCD athletics.

Bio: Jordan has trained at Castro Valley Performing Arts in tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop for the past 15 years. For the last 4 years, she was also a member of Castro Valley High School’s Dance Team. Jordan has won a number of titles dancing competitively, performed in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and was a member of the Golden State Warriors Junior Jam Squad. In her first year at UCD, Jordan hopes to be extremely involved in the school as a member of the Dance Team.
