Kelly Represents Aggies On All-Big West Teams

Junior third baseman Ty Kelly was the lone UC Davis player named to the All-Big West Conference Teams, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. Kelly nabbed honorable mention accolades after garnering second-team acclaim last season.

Kelly, who was the only UC Davis player to start in all 55 games, led the Aggies with 20 doubles, 66 hits, 40 RBIs, 100 total bases, four home runs and a .465 slugging percentage. His 20 doubles rank him in a tie for third on the single season list. In addition, Kelly was among team leaders in batting average (.307) and on-base percentage (.377).

Another Walk-Off Single Gives Aggies Series Win Over Matadors

Sophomore Scott Heylman hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning to score junior Kyle Mihaylo from second base and give UC Davis a 4-3 victory over Cal State Northridge during Senior Day on Sunday afternoon at Dobbins Stadium. It marks the second straight walk-off win for the Aggies and gives them a 2-1 series victory over the Matadors.

The game marked the end of the 2009 season for both teams. The Aggies ended the season with three wins in the final week to finish 13-42 overall and 5-19 in conference play. The Matadors finish 24-32 and 7-17. All three games of the series were decided by one run.

Kupbens, Kelly Lead Aggies To Impressive Win Over Stanford

Junior Ty Kelly drove in a season-high five runs, freshman left-hander Anthony Kupbens put together his second consecutive effective start and UC Davis scored a combined 10 runs in two innings to defeat Stanford, 11-2, Tuesday night at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond in non-conference baseball action.

The win improves the Aggies' overall record to 11-40 and gives them a season split with the Cardinal in the two-game series. Stanford falls to 29-23 with the loss.

Kelly doubled home two runs during the Aggies' six-run second inning and hammered a three-run homer to left-center field in the Aggies' four-run eighth inning to finish with a season-best five RBIs. Kelly's double puts him at 18 on the season, which places him in top seven on the single season list. Kelly also had a game-high three runs scored in the contest.
