Muenter Leads Aggie Contingent On All-WWPA Squads
Senior driver Grant Muenter earned a first-team nod while seniors Adam Bennett and Adam Lindsay picked up second-team and honorable-mention accolades on the 2008 All-Western Water Polo Association team, it was announced during the conference tournament.
Additionally, Luke Collins was selected to the WWPA All-Freshman Team. Only true freshmen are eligible for that honor, excluding UC Davis standout goalkeeper Kevin Peat, who redshirted the 2007 season.
Muenter had 13 goals and a school-record 40 assists entering the WWPA Championship. He also led all Aggies with 27 steals for the season. Bennett posted 54 goals during the regular season, and ranked second to Muenter with 21 assists. Led by six total goals from senior utility Adam Bennett, No. 11 UC Davis split its second-day action at the NorCal Open collegiate men's water polo tournament at Saint Mary's High School, picking up a 10-9 win over 17th-ranked Cal Baptist then falling to No. 13 Navy in a 6-4 afternoon contest.

Senior utility Adam Bennett scored three goals while senior defender Adam Lindsay added two to lead 11th-ranked and third-seeded UC Davis to an 8-6 win over Santa Clara in the third-place game of the Western Water Polo Association men's championship at Claremont's Axelrod Pool Sunday.
The Aggies end their season with a 13-15 record. The Broncos, ranked 15th nationally, finish up at 16-14.
Sophomores Cory Lyle, Aaron Salit and Matt Richardson each added one goal for UC Davis. Junior Jack Wall scored five goals to lead Santa Clara. | |
